CMTs can be a stressful. The students are in a testing period for 45-60 minutes per day for 7 days. To reduce your child’s stress during this testing period:

-Encourage them to do their best and remind them that their performance on this test is only a snap shot of what they know and can do at that moment on that test. They are not expected to know how to do everything on every test. If they don’t know something, it just means they don’t know it yet.

-Be sure that your child gets a good night’s sleep.

-Please make sure your child is on time during these testing days. The tests will be taken in the morning soon after they get to school.

-Encourage them to eat a hearty and heathly breakfast.

FYI: I have told the students that they are allowed to bring something to chew or suck on during the CMTs. I am limiting this to hard candy (Jolly Rachers, Peppermints, Gobstoppers, etc.) or gum.

CMTs begin on Monday and will continue through Tuesday, March 12th. If your child is absent during this time they will make up the test(s) they missed during the week of March 12th.
