Ox Ridge third and fifth graders will be taking the OLSAT this week. The Otis–Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT) is a test of abstract thinking and reasoning ability of children pre-K to 18. The Otis-Lennon is a group-administered, multiple choice, pencil and paper test. It measures verbal, quantitative, and spatial reasoning ability.
The practice test will be this Wednesday, 1/30 and the actual test will be Thursday, 1/31. We want students to be comfortable and relaxed in taking this test. Please be sure your child gets a good night sleep and has breakfast.
*I’ve gotten a few questions about this test. To clarify, no preparation is needed for this test. We do not study for it at school and you do not need to do anything at home. We do one practice test so that the students are familiar with the format. This is one measure used to determine placement for the IDEA program and is a way for the students to practice taking a standardized test in preparation for the CMTs.
